About

Hello! I am David and I make iOS apps, among other things. By day I work as a technician, mostly on software, at a company that sells industrial machinery. It is good fun and the people are great, but what I enjoy most is programming, and that is what I do whenever I can.

I have had a go at plenty of things since that Amstrad CPC 464 turned up at my grandparents' house in the late eighties: BASIC, Visual Basic, Java, Pascal and C at the polytechnic, and a few other languages here and there afterwards. I spent a good number of years building solutions in MS Access first and FileMaker later, since databases and business software sit well with my liking for organisation and process control. In 2022 I took the Swift Full Stack Bootcamp at Apple Coding Academy, and here I am.

This website is my own patch: I publish the apps I develop, I write (I try to) about how I make them, and I keep the documentation they need — support and privacy, above all.

It is built with Publish, a static site generator written in Swift. No JavaScript, no cookies, no analytics, which is why there is no annoying cookie banner. You can read more about that on the privacy page.
